This quarterly REAL Impact features two local associations: the New River Valley Association of REALTORS® (NRVAR) and the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS® (RVAR).
On October 14th, 2025, the two associations joined forces to host an economic summit on housing which featured presentations on the national, state, and local markets. This dynamic partnership not only brought together thought leaders, industry professionals, and policymakers, but also underscored the vital role collaboration plays in driving meaningful community impact. NRVAR and RVAR applied for a Virginia REALTORS® Community engagement grant—and by combining resources and perspectives, the partnering associations were able to amplify their reach, attract diverse voices, and create a more holistic understanding of the complex economic factors influencing supply shortages and the greater housing challenges in the regions.
Together, NRVAR and RVAR demonstrated that progress in housing isn’t a solo effort—it’s built on collaboration, which helps foster informed decision-making, inspire action, and pave the way for sustainable growth.
